Grade 6-8 have been reading William Shakespeare”s play “Hamlet”. We have had two activities that connect to the play. The first was April 21 when two actors from the Penobscot Theatre in Bangor came to our school to do a workshop with our students. Students learned acting and staging skills, and performed a scene from the play directed by the professional actors. We do this every year, choosing a different Shakespeare play. This year was a great experience, as always, and everyone had a great time.
In early May, students worked in groups or individually to act out scenes from “Hamlet”. They made costumes, memorized lines, and showed off their acting skills. Check out the pictures!
